Unlike most scientists she has changed fields several times in her career giving her a great breath of experience in animals, plants and microorganisms, in both an agricultural and medical context. Some of her earlier achievements include creating one of the first genetically engineered veterinary vaccines (for which she holds two patents) and creating one of the first genetically engineered clover pasture plants with resistance to an important virus disease. Dr Anderson has published extensively in international peer reviewed journals and books. She is currently a research scientist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center developing viral gene transfer systems for studying development of the nervous system. In the early 1990s Dr Andersons interest in Astrology and Tarot became a much more important part of her intellectual and experiential life. After undertaking formal training in astrology and Tarot she continued to increase her knowledge with private study and started a professional astrology practice in 1994. During this time she was simultaneously excelling in her science career being promoted to a Senior Lecturer in 1995 and leading her own research group in plant genetic research. In 1996 Dr Anderson moved to New York City and began studying Oriental Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. This is an interest she had nurtured since childhood when her family moved to Hong Kong for a short while. Recognizing her scientific and professorial experience the College offered her a position as Professor of Biophysics and Biology in 1997. In 2000 Dr Anderson was appointed Chair of the Biomedical Department and continues to teach Biophysics and Clinical Research and Design. Dr Anderson has combined her knowledge of science and oriental medicine. She has spoken and written about the scientific and energetic explanation of acupuncture, and the particle/wave duality of the human biofield (aura).
